The walking tour I shall not wholly die… This tour explores the life and career of Auguste Montferrand, an architect of the first half of 19th century. You will find out about this incredible man and his adventure-filled life. The guide will introduce you to the architect’s main works, such as the monument to Emperor Nicholas I and the Alexander’s Column, and the construction history of St Isaac’s Cathedral, which took the architect 40 years to build. The guide will take you to the St Isaac’s colonnaded walkway, and the tour will continue at a height of 43 m.
The tour lasts 1,5 hours.
