St Sampson`s Cathedral

St Sampson`s Cathedral that has miraculously survived is a memorial monument dedicated to the 1709 Battle of Poltava and a Baroque masterpiece of the reign of Empress Ann.
The Church’s decor, a memorial grave yard and the monument to “Biron’s enemies” require special care of this museum, a memorial to Russian valor and to the skilled local architects, carvers and icon painters.
